They offer us a way to touch and explore our shared past. Highlights from the collection include a beautiful marble mantle that once graced Joseph Bonaparte\u2019s estate in Bordentown, a chair crafted by William Penn\u2019s son John, a rickshaw from the Birch carriage company, 19<sup>th<\/sup>-century photographs of veterans of the American Revolution, the beautiful and expansive Lippincott family tree, a touching collection of Civil War letters written by a young soldier to his sister, tall case clocks crafted here in the 18<sup>th<\/sup>-century, and the door handle of the print shop that employed a young Benjamin Franklin.<\/p>\n<p>The Burlington County Historical Society collections include a wide variety of diverse materials.<\/p>\n<p>Museum collections include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Decorative Arts (Quilts, samplers, decoys and paintings)<\/li>\n<li>Furniture<\/li>\n<li>Tools<\/li>\n<li>Household Artifacts (The Aline Wolcott Collection)<\/li>\n<li>Architectural artifacts<\/li>\n<li>Transportation artifacts (Birch Rickshaw)<\/li>\n<li>Costumes<\/li>\n<li>Toys&nbsp; and recreational artifacts<\/li>\n<li>Military artifacts<\/li>\n<li>And much, much more!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Archive and library collections include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prints and Photos<\/li>\n<li>Maps<\/li>\n<li>Manuscripts (Letters,&nbsp; business records, manumission papers)<\/li>\n<li>Deeds<\/li>\n<li>Genealogical sources (Family albums, marriage certificates, family files)<\/li>\n<li>Business Records<\/li>\n<li>Rare books<\/li>\n<li>And much, much more!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The collections are displayed in exhibits throughout the historical society campus, used by researchers exploring their local and family history and preserved for future generations to enjoy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Historical Society\u2019s collections are the physical witnesses to Burlington County and the region\u2019s rich past.&nbsp; &nbsp;They are the storytellers.
