Image Request/Rights and Reproductions

The Burlington County Historical Society can provide electronic or photo copied images for a fee (subject to copyright laws and document condition).

Scans:

Scans of our genealogy files, images, etc. are available for private research use (subject to copyright law and document condition). Scans will be delivered in the following digital formats: JPEG (100, 300, 600 dpi), Tiff (600 dpi), and PDFs. They will be delivered electronically via Dropbox or email depending on the file size. 

$15 service fee per order

$1/image or page (low resolution PDF/JPEG– 100 dpi) 

$5/image or page (high resolution JPEG/Tiff– 300, 600 dpi)

Usage Fees – Non-Profit Use

The Burlington County Historical Society (BCHS) charges a $20.00 usage fee per image for a one-time/one format, non-exclusive use for non-commercial (non-profit, educational, or government) organization and $50 usage fee for digital publications, provided the correct credit line is used and a gratis copy of the catalogue or publication is deposited in the BCHS’s Library. Any subsequent use of materials must be requested in writing from the Historical Society and additional fees may be charged. Usage fees are non-refundable, even if a collection image was not used in the user’s final product.

Usage Fees – For Profit Use

The BCHS charges a $75.00 usage fee per image for a one-time/one format use (also for display) by a commercial organization, including publication runs of up to 5,000 copies. For publications with runs of 5,000-10,000 copies, the usage fee is $100.00 per image and for publications with runs of 10,000-20,000, the usage fee is $125.00 per image. Non-print publications (digital publication) by a commercial organization are charged a flat, $200.00 usage fee. Usage fees are non-refundable, even if a collection image was not used in the user’s final product.
